Nigerian barber Joshua Aiyeniro, known as T-Jos, has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest premium haircut marathon, lasting an impressive 154 hours.
The seven-day event began on June 10, 2025, at 10 p.m. at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja and ended exactly one week later on June 17, 2025, at 10 p.m.
According to Gambo Jagindi, Head of Media and Publicity for the Planning Committee, T-Jos spent 168 active hours on the challenge. However, 14 hours of rest were deducted following Guinness World Records rules, which allow participants one hour of rest after every 12 hours of activity.
This achievement highlights T-Jos’s dedication, passion, and perseverance.
Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and other dignitaries attended the final countdown ceremony. The governor had earlier officially declared the countdown to the closing ceremony.
Their presence emphasized the importance of T-Jos’s accomplishment and its positive influence on skill development and youth inspiration.
Governor Aiyedatiwa said, “T-Jos’s achievement is not only a personal triumph but also a source of inspiration for many. We are proud to have supported him on this journey, and we look forward to seeing the impact his achievement will have on the nation’s youth.”
The event has attracted worldwide attention, showcasing the art of barbering and motivating many people. Organizers congratulated T-Jos on his remarkable feat and wished him success in his future projects.
