Scotland’s top fish and chip eateries have been named, with the best spots scattered across the country. Though National Fish and Chip Day took place on June 6, experts agree that summer is the ideal season for enjoying fresh fish and chunky chips. With the season just beginning, several restaurants in Scotland have earned recognition for their outstanding offerings.
On June 5, Larder Magazine published a list highlighting the best fish and chip restaurants in Scotland, featuring six top eateries. At the top of the list was Landy’s Fish and Chips, located on North Bridge in Edinburgh.
Landy’s, which calls itself “Scotland’s favourite chip shop” on its website, has earned praise for its crispy batter, flaky fish, and generous portions. The restaurant also stands out for its thoughtful touches, such as homemade tartare sauce. The Daily Record also included Landy’s in its roundup of the “10 best fish and chip shops for a summer 2025 takeaway,” commending the restaurant’s “modern and chic” atmosphere and “top-notch” food.
