The esteemed accolade was bestowed upon the Pigeon Forge destination by the National Amusement Park Historical Association, marking a significant milestone for the beloved park.
The recognition was announced as part of the association’s 38th annual Amusement Park and Attractions Survey, which also crowned Dollywood’s Big Bear Mountain roller coaster as the best new attraction of 2023. This double triumph underscores Dollywood’s commitment to delivering unparalleled guest experiences and innovative attractions.
Expressing pride in the park’s success, Dollywood President Eugene Naughton attributed the achievement to the park’s unwavering dedication to quality guest experiences and continuous investment in new attractions and enhancements. Naughton highlighted recent additions such as The Dolly Parton Experience, Big Bear Mountain roller coaster, and HeartSong Lodge & Resort as examples of Dollywood’s industry-leading offerings.
The association’s survey, conducted by experienced theme park enthusiasts who are eligible association members, draws upon their extensive firsthand experiences to determine the winners. With an average member having visited over 100 different theme parks worldwide and experienced more than 340 roller coasters, their votes carry significant weight in the industry.
This latest honor adds to Dollywood’s impressive collection of industry awards and accolades, particularly in the past decade. Noteworthy achievements include being named the best park in the world at the Golden Ticket Awards in 2023, along with numerous recognitions for specific attractions and experiences within the park.
